Call me old fashioned. In some ways I am. I love to read and write sweet, not spicy books.
I know there are other readers and authors who share my preference. That's why I created this blog.
I'll be featuring not only my books, but also others not containing explicit sex scenes. That's not to say I don't believe in sex. I just don't like it explained so graphically. I already know how it works.
If you've written a book which falls into the sweet category, or know of someone who has, please leave a comment here. Also, leave me an email at morgan@morganmandel.com with Sweet Not Spicy in the subject line, if you wish to have your book featured.
Thanks,
Morgan Mandel

Hi Morgan,
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. I also like to keep a PG level on my blogs.
Good luck with it. Looks cute.
I just became your first follower. Would you consider following me at www.mayrassecretbookcase.blogspot.com? :-)
Love the new blog, Morgan. This is one of my favorite templates. Good luck with this one.

Hi,Morgan!
ReplyDeleteMy debut novel will be out later this year. I wonder if you'd consider a 'cross-genre' work? I think of it as a romance/mystery with a large helping of myth & legend, set in Ireland ...?
You can read a Synopsis & opening chapter on my website:
www.baggysbooks.webs.com
(maybe even leave a comment???) Any PR which results from your new Promo site can only help! At the moment I don't have a publishing date, but Whimsical Publications [Florida] have said it will be during 2012.
Good luck with the new venture!

Paul,
DeleteLet me know when you have your pub date. I'm sure I can fit you somewhere, either here or at Acme Authors Link.

Hi
ReplyDeleteI am now a follower on your blog...have fun with it!!
Nice, Morgan. I cannot say any of my romances are purely sweet. But I do have a couple of women's fiction that are, plus one Americana Historical novel--that's what the publisher calls it--and it's definitely sweet. I'll get back to you when I get caught up.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Celtic Lady, and Thanks, Celia.

Hi Morgan, How refreshing to find other authors who find erotica distasteful. What I hate is to start reading a book that purports to be a mystery or a thriller and then suddenly find myself confronted with a lurid sex scene.
ReplyDeleteMy own novel, the historical romance, Domingo's Angel, contains no explicit sex and the best novel I've read recently is The Apple Tree by Lynette Sofras, which is also non-explicit. I'd recommend it to sweet romance readers everywhere
Jenny, Goes to show there are others out there who think like me! I'm glad. Sometimes publishers force authors into including sex scenes, but there are many successful authors who don't include them.
DeleteIf you ever want to do a post here, let me know.
Hello Morgan,
ReplyDeleteIt's always great to know like-minded people and I will certainly be following your blog with interest.
I wrote a short blog on this very subject recently and received some extremely interesting responses, if you'd care to stop by: http://manicscribbler.blogspot.com.
I will also email you about the possibility of featuring 'The Apple Tree' - and could I also say a big thank you to Jenny Twist for mentioning this. 'Domingo's Angel' will make a fascinating feature for you, as any one of the excellent reviews on http://goo.gl/w4nie will prove.
All best wishes and good luck with your blog.
Lynette
Lynette,
DeleteI went over to your blog. I love the picture with the kitty cuddled up sleeping with the dog.
I'm looking forward to your sending something over to post about The Apple Tree.

Hi, Morgan,
ReplyDeleteI think this is a good idea for a blog. I'm currently writing sweet romances and will follow this. I'm also interested in posting about my latest, Loving Rose, from TWRP's Sweetheart Line. Thanks for providing this opportunity.
